Wal-Mart eyes legal action after donkey meat recall

Traces of fox meat found in donkey meat Wal-Mart sold in China has prompted the U.S. retailer to consider taking legal action against the “responsible parties.”

The Associated Press reports Wal-Mart had recalled the donkey meat – considered a popular delicacy in China – after DNA testing by a government agency. The company said it withdrew the products from supplier Dezhou Fujude Food Co. and affected customers were offered compensation. As a result, Bentonville, Ark.-based Wal-Mart also said it plans to add DNA testing to its meat products across its 400 stores in China, the AP reports.
