Starting in 2014, Wal-Mart Stores Inc. will offer health benefits to its U.S. workers' domestic partners.
Though many Fortune 500 companies already have made the move, the Wal-Mart change is seen as a win for gay rights, as Wal-Mart is the largest private employer, with 1.3 million U.S. workers, according to Arkansas Business.
The Arkansas-based company made the decision in August.
