Macquarie Asset Management closed on its $1.7 billion acquisition of Overland Park, Kansas-based Waddell & Reed Financial Inc.
Macquarie Asset Management is taking on $76 billion in assets under management through the deal.
The closure of the sale meant Friday was the last day of work for about 20% of the 1,100 full-time positions at Waddell & Reed’s headquarters.
