Volkswagen AG plans to invest $2.6 billion into Ford Motor Co.'s self-driving car unit.
The deal values the division, called Argo AI, at $7 billion.
Through the deal, Argo will develop self-driving car technology for Volkswagen while continuing its work for Ford.
