VW Golf, Ford F-150 named North American Car and Truck of the Year

The Volkswagen Golf is the North American Car of the Year, beating out the Ford Mustang and Hyundai Genesis.

Winning Truck of the Year honors is the Ford F-150, defeating the Lincoln MKC and Chevrolet Colorado, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Winners were announced during the Detroit auto show.
