Joplin voters approved a sales tax renewal on Tuesday.
The quarter-cent parks and stormwater sales tax is expected to generate $43 million for additions to parks and stormwater flood controls for streets and neighborhoods, the Joplin Globe reports.
The unofficial election results showed a nearly 80% majority vote for the renewal.
