Volvo reveals its BMW killer, the XC90

Posted online
Swedish automaker Volvo, now owned by China-based Zhejiang Geely, unveiled its new XC90 SUV this week after releasing teaser photos of single features for the past few months.

Critics are impressed so far, according to reporting by Bloomberg Businessweek. Features of the fetching luxury vehicle include a flatscreen console, blond wood trim and headlights that look like the mythical hammer of the Norse god, Thor.

The XC90 is expected at dealerships next year with a price tag starting at $66,000, to compete with BMW's X5. Expect to pay a bit over $90,000 for a first-edition model. Volvo plans to offer 1,927 of those; the figure is a nod to the year the company was founded.
