Volkswagen to plead guilty today in emissions case

Volkswagen is scheduled to plead guilty today to three felony counts in the Justice Department's diesel emissions investigation.

The plea agreement announced in January requires Volkswagen to be formally arraigned today in the U.S. District Court in Detroit. The charges are conspiracy to commit fraud, obstruction of justice and entry of goods by false statement.

The company also agreed to pay the United States $4.3 billion in civil and criminal fines.
