Volkswagen to pay $15B to settle diesel case

Volkswagen reportedly will pay $14.7 billion to settle claims of selling cars with software designed to cheat on emissions tests.

The deal would include $10 billion to repair or buy back 475,000 cars equipped with 2-liter diesel engines. Owners could receive up to $10,000 per vehicle.

The settlement also includes $2.7 billion in fines and and $2 billion for clean-emissions technology.
