The situation continues to worsen for Volkswagen Group.
VW Chairman Hans Dieter Potsch is now under investigation by the prosecutor's office in the German town of Brunswick over allegations the company failed to properly disclose details to investigators.
Potsch, who's the former CEO of the company, allegedly contributed to market manipulation. Former CEO Martin Winterkorn is also a target of the investigation.
At issue is whether VW promptly revealed the full financial risks stemming from its emissions scandal when the issue arose in September 2015.
