Voices of Salute: Brandi Yancey, Springfield Design Association

Posted online
Springfield Design Association is a peer group and a professional association that comprises commercial and residential interior designers, furniture dealers and representatives, students, wholesale suppliers and distributors, architects, builders and others who are supportive of the design environment.

Industry role
Interior design is a multifaceted profession, responsible for more than just making a space aesthetically pleasing. We are challenged with the need to create a space that encourages the owners’ business strategies and goals, and/or enhances their living environment. We also are faced with technical and functional issues, and by implementing well-researched solutions, we enhance the living and working environment. Interior designers also play a lead role in educating their clients on the options and benefits of practicing environmental sustainability.

2011 accomplishments
By reaching out to the public through events and advertising, we continue to educate homeowners and business owners on the benefits of having a professional interior designer as part of the comprehensive design team.
