Visa and Mastercard have agreed to lower swipe fees in the United States.
The so-called interchange fees will be reduced by an average of 0.1 percentage points over five years.
The move is the latest attempt to settle a 20-year dispute with merchants.

Not near good enough ... and also, these merchants needs to be STOPPED at charging the consumer for the consumer using a DEBIT card. I'm a big tipper but it's going to come down to me having to discount my tips to cover the extra charge for using my DEBIT.
