Village Bank president Street retires

Village Bancshares Inc. President and CEO James Street has retired from the bank that he founded nearly 11 years ago.

Street’s last day at the Springfield-based bank was Feb. 29. His replacement, George Marino, previously chief operating officer at Springfield Trust Co., began March 3, according to Vice President and corporate board secretary Joan Williams. Marino was not available for comment.

Street, 64, also was chairman of the board for the bank. Williams could not immediately disclose the new chairman.

Village Bank has more than $100 million assets and five locations, the newest of which recently opened in Ozark.[[In-content Ad]]
