Video: Mulching machine can swallow a tree whole in seconds

They are called excavator mulchers, but they might as well be named tree monsters.

NPR posted a video on NPR.org of one of the machines from Quebec manufacturer Denis Cimaf, which consumes a 30-foot spruce tree in 15 seconds.

The machines are versatile and can eat trees from the top down or swallow whole from the side. They are designed to prune, mulch, carve ski trails, help landscapers or generally speed up construction.
