Epic Games' "Fortnite Battle Royale" has now brought in more than $1 billion in revenue in less than a year.
That's according to a new report from research firm SuperData, which also found the battle royale genre is greatly outpacing others in terms of streaming viewership.
"Fortnite," which is free to play, makes its money off of in-game cosmetic items sold to players.
