Video: Five Pound Apparel nets $33K in 'Missouri is Awesome' campaign

The Missouri Department of Economic Development has pointed the spotlight at Springfield retailer Five Pound Apparel after its successful “Missouri is Awesome” Kickstarter campaign.

Five Pound Apparel met its 30-day crowdfunding goal on Aug. 18 and raised $33,215 in pledges from 799 backers on Kickstarter. What started as a college idea, the retailer sells T-shirts with slogans such as “Springfield, Mo., Where dreams come true” and “Missouri’s Chief Export: Movie Stars.”
