Victory Mission asks for school supplies

Posted online
A school bus at Wal-Mart Supercenter, 3315 S. Campbell, is empty and waiting to be filled with school supplies for needy Ozarks children.

Springfield Victory Mission has parked the bus in Wal-Mart’s parking lot as a drop-off site for the community to donate pencils, paper, folders, scissors, crayons, rulers and glue. Donations are accepted 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through July 29.

The supplies will be distributed to students on Aug. 9 at the North Town Mall. Each student will receive school supplies, clothing from the Victory Mission Thrift Store, books from Scholastic and a $20 voucher for clothing at Kmart, Target or Wal-Mart.
