Viacom's interim CEO leaving the company

Viacom's interim CEO and President Tom Dooley is leaving the company after Nov. 15.

Dooley moved from chief operating officer to interim CEO following the resignation of former CEO Philippe Dauman. The appointment was supposed to last until the end of September. Dooley's appointment came after a power struggle for control of Viacom, one of the world's largest media companies.

"While this was a difficult decision for me, I have great admiration for our new board and I feel that they will be best able to execute on their vision for the company in the hands of a new president and CEO," Dooley said in a statement.
