Viacom is asking CBS for a sweetened merger deal, people familiar with the matter told Reuters.
National Amusements, the Redstone family company that controls CBS and Viacom, has been pushing for a merger.
Viacom wants CBS to raise its bid by $2.8 billion. Viacom's counterproposal values the company at $14.7 billion.
