Verizon's 'Can you hear me now?' guy joins Sprint

The character famous for Verizon's "Can you hear me now?" commercials has defected.

Paul Marcarelli, who became famous for playing the character "Test Man" in the commercials that ran 2002-11, is now with Sprint.

During Sunday night's NBA Finals game, Marcarelli will explain why he switched to Sprint.

"I used to ask if you 'can hear me now' with Verizon. Not anymore," Marcarelli says in his first Sprint commercial. "I'm with Sprint now, because guess what? It's 2016 and every network is great. In fact Sprint's reliability is now within 1 percent of Verizon and Sprint saves you 50 percent over Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile's rates.

"Can you hear that?"
