Verizon Wireless Amphitheater gets new name

It’s been called Riverport Amphitheater, UMB Bank Pavilion and the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater. Now, the Maryland Heights concert venue is getting another name — Hollywood Casino Amphitheater.

The St. Louis Business Journal reports the entertainment production company Live Nation signed a multiyear agreement with Hollywood Casino in Maryland Heights, which is owned and operated by Penn National Gaming, to be the amphitheater's title sponsor.

In 2013, Penn National Gaming (Nasdaq: PENN) wrapped up a more than $62 million renovation of the hotel and casino, rebranding it Hollywood Casino from Harrah's Casino.
