The latest 4G LTE network extension includes Bolivar, Halfway, Marshfield, Conway, Phillipsburg, Lebanon, Ava, Sundown, Theodosia, West Plains, Willow Springs and Mountain View.
Verizon introduced its 4G LTE network to the area in November 2011 with coverage in Springfield, Branson, Ozark, Nixa, Reeds Spring, Strafford and Willard. Another expansion along Interstate 44 and highways 13 and 14 occurred in April.
“With the 4G LTE network, customers can leverage the speed and connectivity through a variety of 4G LTE devices to connect with family, friends and colleagues and continue to push the boundaries of communication,” said Brendan Fallis, president of Verizon’s Kansas City/Missouri region, in a news release.
The expanded network is designed to allow area customers to use their wireless devices to search the Web, listen to music and stream live video with speeds up to 10 times faster than they could previously, according to the release. Verizon officials have said 4G LTE customers should experience average data rates of 5 to 12 megabits per second on the downlink and 2 to 5 Mbps on the uplink.
