Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro yesterday said the country is ready to receive international aid after a meeting with Red Cross.
"We confirm our readiness to establish cooperation mechanisms for international assistance and support," Maduro wrote on Twitter.
As international sanctions pile up and crude oil exports drop, malnutrition and disease have risen in the country.
The country also faces a political crisis, with Maduro refusing to yield the presidency to Juan Guaido. The latter politician declared himself acting president in January and has been supported by the U.S. and other countries.
