Vatterott announced July 31 that it has been approved as an authorized Prometric Testing Center.|ret||ret||tab|
The college now offers on-campus testing to the public for the most current computer certifications by Microsoft, Cisco, UNIX, Novell, Oracle and others. |ret||ret||tab|
Specific certifications include Microsoft certified systems engineer 2000, A+ PC Technician, Microsoft Office user specialist and Novell Engineer. Tests are updated regularly.|ret||ret||tab|
Prometric is a worldwide provider of comprehensive technology-based testing and assessment services. In 1999, Prometric had contracts to deliver more than 2,400 different tests.|ret||ret||tab|
As an authorized Prometric Testing Center, Vatterott College can distribute hundreds of tests in a range of disciplines. Testing is scheduled 1-5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday at 1258 E. Trafficway in Springfield. Enrollment is available online at www. 2test.com or by calling 800-597-1000. Vatterott also has added a 90-week computer systems and network technology program that leads to an associate of occupational studies degree. |ret||ret||tab|
Classes began Aug. 7, and new classes begin every 10 weeks. Vatterott College is enrolling for both morning and evening sessions for the new training program.|ret||ret||tab|
"The overwhelming success for our computer technology diploma program drove the demand to add the associate degree level of the program," said Cheryl Tilley, co-director of Vatterott College in Springfield, in a press release. |ret||ret||tab|
"In less than one year enrollment in the computer technology program surpassed all of our other programs. Our students are finding great career success in this very fast-growing career field," she added.|ret||ret||tab|
Students of the computer systems and network technology program will learn Cisco networking and routing; DOS; Windows NT and Novell networks; installation and advanced configuration of operating systems; troubleshooting and repair of IBM compatible computers; TCP/IP protocol stack and router configuration; HTML; and installation of computer peripherals.|ret||ret||tab|
