The Vatican decreed Monday that the Catholic Church cannot bless same-sex unions.
Officials with the Vatican's orthodoxy office, the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, said God "cannot bless sin."
The church continues to welcome and bless gay people, but not their unions.
