Project owner: Greene County Highway Department and the Missouri Department of Transportation|ret||ret||tab|

Bid date: Fall 2002 |ret||ret||tab|

Estimated cost: $1.8 million|ret||ret||tab|

This project widens Valley Water Mill Road (Farm Road 102) to three lanes, with a sidewalk from U.S. Highway 65 to Cedarbrook (Farm Road 175), approximately three-fourths of a mile. There are houses located very close to the existing road, which presents design challenges in trying to minimize the damage to residents' yards. The new road also will have different elevations, and will be as much as 10 feet lower than the old road in some places. Another challenge will be attaching driveways safely to the new road. The new roadway's design will eliminate dangerous hills, and the two existing box culverts will be replaced. The intersection with Farm Road 175 will be improved to include left turn lanes for improved safety. |ret||ret||tab|
