Valeant CEO takes medical leave of absence

Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc. CEO J. Michael Pearson has taken a medical leave of absence.

Company officials said he has been diagnosed with severe pneumonia.

In the interim, a three-person team will lead the drugmaker.
