The U.S. Department of Agriculture has approved verbiage for chicken grown from bioreactors.
The lab-grown chicken from Upside Foods and Eat Just will be labeled “cell-cultivated chicken" when it's sold to the public.
The companies still need grants of inspection from the USDA at their manufacturing facilities for complete approval. Both companies have received OKs from the Food and Drug Administration.
