US women’s soccer win shines light on pay inequality

The U.S. women's soccer team defeated the Netherlands to earn their fourth Women’s World Cup.

The win comes as team members fight for equal pay to that of their male counterparts.

All 28 U.S. female players last month alleged gender discrimination against their employer in a lawsuit. The players reportedly have begun mediation in the suit. The team earlier claimed they earned roughly 16% of the bonuses men would have in the World Cup.
