A U.S. trial of the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine confirmed its safety and effectiveness.
The trial found the vaccine was 79% effective at stopping symptomatic COVID disease and 100% effective at preventing people from becoming seriously ill from the virus.
BBC News reports the trial could clear the vaccine for use in the United States within a couple months.
