US to pay for missile defense system in South Korea

President Donald Trump's national security chief says the United States will pay for a U.S. missile defense system that's being installed in South Korea.

The move by White House national security adviser Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster follows controversy last week when Trump said South Korea should pay for the system.

McMaster denied his actions contradicted Trump's remarks.

"That's not what it was," he said. "What I told our South Korean counterpart is until any renegotiation, that the deal is in place. We will adhere to our word."
