U.S. to lift 2008 ban on Vietnamese adoptions

After alleged baby selling led to a six-year ban from the United States, adoption lines are once again open with Vietnam.

Bloomberg reports adoptions will be limited to children 5 years and older, those with disabilities and others with siblings.

The move comes as the two countries – once enemies – work to strengthen their relationship.

U.S. adoptions from overseas have fallen 69 percent since a 2004 peak because of government restrictions.
