U.S. Steel is laying off hundreds of workers.
The Pittsburgh-based steelmaker cut 48 part- and full-time jobs in July and early August. Another round of cuts, less than 200, are expected in September.
While company officials say the layoffs are temporary, they may last longer than six months.
