The National Federation of Independent Business yesterday reported small-business confidence hit a two-year low in March, spurred by concern over sales and profits.
The NFIB’s small-business optimism index dropped 0.3 percentage points to 92.6 last month – the lowest level since February 2014.
The index has declined from 100 in December 2014 and continues to stray from the 42-year average of 98, according to Reuters.
Small-business owners said they were confident about business conditions, capital spending and raising compensation for workers. There was softening in their views on the labor market.
