US senators' letter about gun sales goes unanswered by Bass Pro

Posted online
Thirteen U.S. senators last month sent a letter to Bass Pro Shops asking the company to change one aspect of its gun sales policy. The retailer has yet to respond, according to the St. Louis Business Journal.

Prompted by the shooting deaths in Charleston, S.C., in June, the letter also was sent to Nebraska-based Cabela's and Texas-based EZPawn.

The letter asks the retailers to require background checks of all customers before selling them guns.

Missouri's senators did not sign the letter, according to the business journal, which cites reporting by the Springfield News-Leader.
