US retail sales expected to grow by up to 4.1%

The National Retail Federation is predicting an increase in U.S. retail sales to the tune of 3.5% to 4.1%.

"With gains in household income and wealth, lower interest rates and strong consumer confidence, we expect another healthy year ahead," NRF CEO Matthew Shay said.

Headwinds that may impact the prediction include the presidential election, the lingering trade war and the coronavirus epidemic.
