The U.S. public health emergency declaration for mpox ended yesterday.
The virus called mpox, formerly known as monkeypox, isn't gone but has quietly wound down, according to CNN.
For more than a month, the average number of daily new cases has been in the single digits, according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data. The peak was 450 cases per day in August.
