Pending home sales dropped in the United States unexpectedly during September.
The National Association of Realtors' pending home sales index fell by 2.3% last month. On a year-over-year basis, pending home sales were down 8%.
"Some potential buyers have momentarily paused their home search with intentions to resume in 2022," said Lawrence Yun, NAR's chief economist.
