The U.S. Bureau of Land Management is offering $1,000 to adopt a wild horse.
Over 80,000 wild horses and burros are located on rangelands in the western United States. They damage rangeland and some of them starve as populations rise, according to the BLM.
The animals are capctured and kept in corrals by the BLM. Some of the less feral horses are up for adoption.
