US now has most untapped oil

A new report by Rystad Energy found the United States has more untapped oil than anywhere else on the planet.

The report estimates the country is sitting on 264 billion barrels of oil reserves, including oil in existing fields, new projects, recent discoveries and projections in undiscovered fields.

Rounding out the top five are Russia, at 256 billion barrels; Saudi Arabia, at 212 billion; Canada, at 167 billion; and Iran, at 143 billion.
