Key Democrats and Republicans said on Sunday they expect a divided Congress to come together and avert a U.S. government shutdown in eight days, according to

By a 230-189 tally, the House passed a short-term government spending plan that would eliminate all funding for the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare.
Analysts say a shutdown is more likely than a default, but neither are by any means guaranteed.
