For the first time since the government began tracking job openings in 2000, there are more opportunities available than there are workers to fill them.
The Labor Department reported job openings hit a record high of 6.7 million in April. During the same month, there were 6.35 million unemployed workers.
The largest increases in job openings during April were from manufacturers of airplanes, machinery and more, as well as information sector employers.
