US, Japan sign trade deal

The United States and Japan reached a partial trade deal.

The deal, signed by President Donald Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, cuts tariffs on U.S. farm goods and Japanese machine tools, among other products.

The agreement does not include automobiles, though Abe said he received assurance from Trump that the U.S. would not impose national security tariffs on them.
