US identifies first coronavirus case without outbreak ties

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention identified the first coronavirus case that doesn't appear to have ties to an existing outbreak.

CDC officials said the patient doesn't appear to have traveled to China or have been exposed to another known case of the illness.

Officials say it could be a case of community spread, where the virus circulates outside of quarantines or known contacts with other patients.
