US House passes LGBTQ rights bill

The U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday passed a LGBTQ rights bill dubbed the Equality Act.

If approved by the Senate, the act would amend the federal Civil Rights Act of 1964 to include protections against discrimination based on sexual orientation and identity.

The bill has support from President Joe Biden.
