US firm tries to block part of Toshiba's survival plan

Western Digital has taken issue with Toshiba's plan to survive its massive financial crisis.

The U.S. firm is challenge the company's move to auction its memory chip business. Western Digital officials don't want Toshiba to sell its stakes in three joint ventures along with the chip unit.

Western Digital officials say they have not consented to such a move.
