US faces Santa shortage

The United States is facing a shortage of Santas, according to a report by Insider.

HireSanta.com founder Mitch Allen said requests for Santas at events this year has jumped by 121%. However, there are 10% fewer Santa Claus entertainers this year.

Insider reports some of the entertainers have died from COVID-19 and many are opting out due to the ongoing pandemic. Retirements also play a factor.
