US deficit spikes 12% in two months

The U.S. government deficit rose 12% to $342 billion during the first two months of fiscal 2020, according to Congressional Budget Office data.

The budget deficit is expected to average $1.2 trillion a year 2020-29.

In October and November, revenue was up 3% to $471 billion. Expenditures climbed 6% to $813 billion.
