U.S. consumer sentiment falls in March

Despite reports of increased household wealth and gains in the job market and the U.S. economy overall, apparently middle-income households aren't feeling any better about their personal finances, because they aren't spending any money, according to Reuters.
 
Preliminary readings of consumer sentiment thus far in March put the index at 91.2, down from 85.4 in February and well below the forecast of 95.5, Reuters reports.
 
Despite the weaker numbers, economists still predict 3.3 percent growth in personal spending this year, the report states.
