US consumer confidence slumps

The Conference Board's consumer confidence index dropped to its lowest level since February 2021.

The index was 98.7 in June, down from 103.2 in May.

The business research group’s expectations index, based on U.S. consumers’ six-month outlook for income, business and labor market conditions, fell to 66.4 in June. That's the lowest level since 2013.
